a group of basketmakers from Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties.
They now have over 60 members. Currently the guild rotates its

Bayshore Presbyterian Apartments in Tampa on the third Saturday
of the month from Sept. through May. The newsletter,
"The Woven Word", is distributed quarterly. Annual dues,

- Lake Country Basket Fest - The theme for this years annual event that takes place the first weekend
in May will be "Weave Moved" to the Washington County Fair Park, West Bend WI. Take classes from National &
Local Instructors and shop at the Basket Supply Vendors Market Place. You must be a member of the
guild ($20.00 membership) to register for Basket Fest. Registration for Basket Fest is $100.00 plus
class fees payable to the instructors. Brochures will be sent to all current members in the month of

Most of our members do traditional willow basketry. We hold regular
workshops for both members and others interested in traditional crafts.
We meet twice monthly at a home we rent near our cultivated willow
fields. We need to rent a home in order to store all our willow and
other collected materials.

Membership of The Basketmakers' Association (for
basketmakers and chairseaters) is open to any person
interested in these and allied crafts.
It publishes a quarterly Newsletter and provides
numerous services for its members, including organising
courses at all levels and publishing a comprehensive
listing of courses and exhibitions throughout the UK.
Overseas membership is #15 per annum (in sterling),
and there are currently members in 14 countries
outside the UK.
US membership (which can be in the name of an individual
or a local group) is the equivalent of #15 sterling per
calender year. The Editor is happy to send single copies
to interested individuals who request it.
We want to make contact with makers from all over the USA
(and even the world!!), to establish links, exchange
information, and generally enhance the level of awareness
of what is happening in the basketmaking world.
